Metal Gear Solid was an incredibly important release for both Sony and Konami. It's stealth action, memorable cast, and thrilling boss encounters felt like an experience that couldn't truly exist in any other medium. Too big for a film, and too eccentric for the page Metal Gear Solid was brought to life via the wizardry that is computer code.

This was a very difficult choice to make, but Metal Gear Solid Integral for PlayStation 1 is, as of this writing, the Definitive Version of Metal Gear Solid. It stays as true to from as possible while adding bonus options and additional content.

Although it's not the Definitive Version, the Good Old Games release for PC is an adequate entry that's probably much more accessible than a Japanese PS1 release.

That being said, if the Master Collection version of Integral receives an update to its resolution and framerate preferences it's worth making a case even though it has some minor censorship and audio flaws.
